Interview With The Author

  • What are you working on next?
Outside of short stories and contests; I am currently trying to get other writers on-board to publish a charity anthology in 2016. The proceeds will go to Domestic Violence Awareness. I am also co-writing a Dystopian Sci-Fi with my son. We’re expecting to finish in Spring of 2016 with intentions of it being a trilogy.
  • Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite traditional authors that I grew up reading are Sidney Sheldon, Anne Rice, Jean M. Auel , and V.C. Andrews. My current favorite indie authors that I’ve become acquainted with since I started writing again would have to be Felia Tatum, Konstanz Silverbow, and T.H. Snyder
  • What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My eyes opening. I am a believer that every day that I am blessed to wake up is a day to try to do something great. I may not succeed every day or even every month but my goals are clear and I move toward them every morning when my eyes open.
  • When you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have three amazing children that keep me quite busy. I have one on his last leg of high school preparing for college, another is preparing for high school, and my youngest is preparing for preschool so our house is amass with crafts, flashcards, apps, programs and school materials. I also love making miniatures; I use my daughter as an excuse to make Barbie items but I’d be making them even if I only had sons 🙂
  • How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I’m in several blogger/writer groups on Facebook and Twitter so I usually get suggestions from there. I also jump at the chance to critique and review ARCs of new authors.
  • Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do actually. I had been reading a lot of Christopher Pike that year, I believe I was about 14. It was a story of 6 friends that head off to an island for Spring Break and ( if you know of Christopher Pike then you know where the story went ) Murder, Betrayal, Disappearances, & Weird Twists … I think it was called Nightmare Island or something 🙂
  • What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have the Kindle App on my Samsung Galaxy III
  • Describe your desk
Depends on the day, time, and what I’m working on. It can either be a neat little OCD Heaven or a hurricane of sticky notes and papers 🙂
  • How do you approach cover design?
My son has actually helped a lot with this aspect he introduced me to “Simple yet Epic” … for example : a lone character on a hill overlooking a chaotic scene below.

Toni J Lynch is a Contemporary Fiction writer, and blogger with a love for short stories living in Northwest Ohio with her three children. She’s been a writer since she can remember and although she put it aside for many years she has realized that it is her calling in life to bring characters into existence. Also an avid reader and crafter; when she isn’t writing she is usually seen with a book in one hand and a glue gun in the other.
